This is not an art piece in the usual sense — rather a commissioned table top protector for Art Plus Gallery. But since it took nearly all day, it is going to count for my 30-for-30 challenge. I understand there are no rules!
It is 14″ in diameter, for a round end table that is 24″ in diameter. The chevron design is composed of strips of grays and reds, fused to the background muslin. I printed the words on a piece of tulle, and fused them on top, then quilted it and hand embroidered the edge.
I’ll take it to the gallery this afternoon, in time for our Grand Reopening today from 5-8, after extensive remodeling.
Voila! On to day 9.
